Profiles of Interest (POI)

Profiles of Interest

As part of our PEPs & Sanctions screening, we offer the ability to screen if the individual is a profile of interest (POI). A POI is defined as persons that can be linked to outdated red flags, such as expired PEP status, reputational risk or regulatory measures no longer in force. For example, if an individual was previously an MP, they will not be considered a PEP/Former PEP after 12 months from leaving their position, but they would be considered a POI, a 'historic PEP', for ten years following.

You can run POI checks as part of a manual PEPs & Sanctions screening by following the steps here, or if you have it enabled, it will automatically run for any journeys that contain PEPs & Sanctions. If you wish to enable the check as a default when you run a journey that includes PEPs & Sanctions, you can request it here.

Please note - POI checks are not included as part of Credas+ remediation, and therefore if you choose to enable it, you will always be required to manually remediate any possible matches for POIs.

What happens if a possible match has flagged?

If a possible match flags for POI, you will be able to see within the detailed report of an individual, as can be seen below with a POI example, Boris Johnson. You will need to review the information provided, we also recommend reading the original URL source/evidence of source provided, and identify if the possible match is the individual in question. You will need to do this by following your internal compliance process. If the possible match is the individual in question, and you are unsure on what to do next, it is down to your organisations internal policies so we recommend reaching out to your manager/compliance officer.

If you need assistance on how you can update the result of a possible match on Credas, please see our guide here

How much does this cost?

If run together, this check is included within your 1 credit when running a PEPs & Sanctions check.
